Sue & Paul's Travel Diary

August to November 2005
Our long awaited round the world trip.

Singapore

Had a great flght up from Perth to Singapore, on Singapore Airlines.

Thursday morning the weather was lousy - constant rain for hours. Never mind.

We went out to see the Changi memorial chapel, where we found some letters written by Sue's dad when when he was a prisoner of war in WWII.

Spent the afternoon wandering around the city, lunch in China Town, and a lot of time travelling under Singapore in the excellent mass rapid transit system.

This evening we went on a river cruise which was quite enjoyable. Ended up in the Long Bar at the new Raffles, but couldn't bring ourselves to cough up $20 a drink(!)

Now we're at Changi airport (thoroughly civilised place) waiting for our 2:00 am flight to Johannesburg.
